What If President Biden Does Have Dementia?

We’re going to do a few notes on this story, as it is a historic moment.

On Tuesday, WH Press Secretary stated that President Biden has not been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or any form of dementia, but then she got touchy when asked about whether he had been tested or whether the White House would release more medical information.

Seemingly, the right thing to do would be to commit to a full range of medical tests with the express purpose of determining any cognitive impairment. Those tests should include a PET scan.

From there, the President will either have ammunition to dispel the controversy or a formal dementia diagnosis.

The idea that the White House could white knuckle this through the election is insane. If the President is suffering, there will be rapid decline over the next few months which could lead to a truly disastrous debate in September.

Is that really what Democrats want? By the September 10, 2024 debate, there would be no saving the Democrats. Nobody else could get on the ballot in enough states to win, and there would be a fierce backlash.

There are new treatments available, and if the President is avoiding a diagnosis, he is only hurting himself. Yes, he would have to resign as President, but he could be costing himself some good months or years personally.

Right now, there is a short window where he could be replaced. It would be a nightmarish legal fight to get his replacement on the ballot in certain states, but the alternative being a rapid decline until September, the Democrats should jump at the chance.

It’s time for a few medical tests.
